French Louis XV style carved oak trumeau mirror, 20th c., rectangular frame with raised foliated scrollwork, encasing oil on canvas still life painting of a floral urn, signed lower central right R. Folville (Robert Folville, French, 1883-1954), over flat mirror plate, patched repairs to canvas, approx 82.25"h, 45"w, 64lbs
02.09.2026- In my opinion regarding LOT: 2197- the mirror was examined on the wall, hanging hardware may have been added since the time of photography, please refer to online images for a view of the back, there is an outer trim to each side that appears to have loss all along the edges, I am unsure if this is backing or trim, it is not visible from a front view, please see attached images for your reference, the frame is intact and stable, I note some typical seams at joints, small nicks, minor wood losses/chips to carvings, rubs and tonal variation, the painting is slightly loose in the frame, a UV light examination reveals old varnish, minor scattered inpainting, including to a small old repair at center flower basket and beneath the signature, there is scattered light craquelure, overall the colors remain vibrant and the image well defined, the flat mirror plate is free of noted chips or cracks, please see attached images for your review
