Large French giltwood mirror, late 19th/ early 20th c., the composite crest modeled as fruit-bearing banana frond crest, over arched frame with faux bamboo molding, encasing flat mirror plate, approx 79"h, 46.5"w, 96lbs **Provenance: From the Byram Family's Above Stratford Mansion. John Byram, a prominent Austin-based real estate developer, and his late wife Sally Byram curated this French Provincial style estate with the help of notable architects and interior designers. CR 3.24.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 2296-The mirror is eclectic with unusual details, the crest is intact with some minor typical restorations, losses to molded gesso elements, and wear, further exhibits some small repairs and lines, particularly at upper corners, gilt surfaces have been touched up with paint, and show some tonal variation, rubs, nicks and light wear, the flat mirror plate is diamond dust (sparkly), and intact exhibiting age with some overall general light hazing, scattered spotting, and some loss of silver primarily noted at center plate and along bottom edge, see images, all mentioned commensurate with age and this type of mirror
