Large Louis XV style matched veneer cabinet, with shaped marble top, bronze dore mounts, centering high-relief ovular plaque with the Greek goddess Amphitrite emerging from waves, three cabinet doors with diamond-form parquetry, rising on tapered cabriole legs, ending on sabots, approx 52"h, 63.5"w, 22"d
09.25.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3234: I note that the cabinet is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the marble top having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, with some minute typical chipping at the corners, edges remaining smooth, and is securely supported by case, there is typical minute veneer chipping along edges with professional filled restoration and concealment, including a few minute spots of the inlaid parquetry, there are a few larger spots of veneer with professional filled restoration, such as at the front left-hand leg and the left-hand cornice, but are well-concealed and relatively seamless alongside the original veneer, there is a split/ seam at the lower right corner of trim on central cabinet door, and a small split to one of the foliate vines mounted directly below cornice at corner post, there is light patination and mellowing of ormolu with tonal variations, I observe some areas of minor spotting and pitting, such as at the knees of the central Amphitrite figure, additionally I observe some typical minor seam separation between ormolu trim and veneer at the side panels, all remaining structurally secure, and cabinet doors currently operate smoothly, including secure closure, aforementioned minor surface wear such as light abrasions and edge chipping are typical and commensurate with age and use I am not an expert on such furniture so have taken multiple high-resolution images for your review
