Louis XV style granite-top commode, of bombe form, with parquetry inlay, bronze dore mounts, two drawers, on splayed legs ending in paw feet sabots, approx 34"h, 50"w, 23.5"d
11.21.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3230: I note that the commode is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the granite top having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, as well as scattered minute chips and fleabites, which are typical and commensurate with use, along the edges, there is a small segment of professional restoration to a couple veneer chips located at the center-right of trim directly below granite top, the ormolu having retained a rich hue, with areas of light mellowing or rubs, such as the drawer pulls, commensurate with use, some light patination with minor spotting, and a sparse amount of minute pitting, all ormolu remaining securely mounted throughout the case, the drawers currently opening smoothly with overall well-kept/ clean interiors, and there is a minute amount of typical light surface wear such as a few minute abrasions and nicks commensurate with gentle use
