Monumental Continental woven tapestry, 17th/ 18th c., depicting a mythological scene with Diana and Actaeon in verdant landscape, scrolled foliate border, some overall loss and professional repair, approx 120"h, 132"w
03.11.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 3302: I note that the tapestry is presently intact and securely bound, with typical separation to the weft, as described there are professional stitched restorations throughout ranging in size, a look at the interior reveals that the tapestry has been relined, there is separation throughout the edge from the burlap lining the reverse, as well as loose threads and tearing along the edges, there is tonal variation throughout associated with typical fading and discoloration/ staining, including minor bleach spotting, commensurate with age and use
