Nippon parcel-gilt and paint-decorated porcelain vase, Morimura Brothers, early 20th c., shoulders and round foot with intricate raised gilded enamel in scrolled and floral patterns, over conical body with hand-painted white wild roses, green maple leaf mark underfoot approx 14.75"h, 7"diam, 4.25lbs
9.4.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT 1378: Upon close visual and UV light examinations, the vase is free from observed hairlines/ fractures, chipping, or evidence of restoration, the painted and enameled decoration is overall well-preserved and I do not currently observe notable losses, having only some light surface discoloration or rubs, the gilded details with slight mellowing, and there are a few minute abrasions, all described wear is commensurate with age and use, I observe some minute iron pitting, and a few small spots of adhesive residue likely related to original joinery of the foot to vessel
