Rare 100% made shotgun by Joseph Jurjevic (Texas, New York, Austria, b.1920), a European trained Master Gunsmith who worked in Cairo, New York and Burnet, Texas and earlier was employed in the Firearm Department of Abercrombie & Fitch, NYC, and whose after market single trigger assembly has been used in Purdy, Holland & Holland, Parker and other well known shotguns, Jurjevic is listed in the Hallowell & Co., Illustrated Firearms Directory, this firearm is pictured in the 1977 Deluxe 31st Anniversary Edition of Gun Digest, a single shot .410 gauge take down shotgun with a 26" vent rib barrel and ivory bead front sight, the exterior profile of the unique action is reminiscent of Browning "Automatic" shotguns, a lever with strong spring action at the right receiver when depressed causes the breech block behind the barrel to slide backwards allowing access to the chamber, the block is manually pushed forward and the shotgun is ready to fire, there is a rear slide safety, the left receiver is engraved "Designed and Made By, Joseph Jurjevic, Gunsmith, Cairo, N,Y.", a checkered walnut forestock and checkered pistol grip butt stock, the action is very strong, the wood with only a few light scratches, the metal is very good with some scratching on the right receiver at the lever, bore is bright and appears excellent, overall this firearm appears as very little use, LOP is approx. 13.7/8", weight 6.25lbs, full length 44.75", housed in a Elk River hard case, no serial number, *REQUIRES FFL TRANFER* *Note: Our consignor operated a gun shop in an Austin, Texas suburb and acquired the shotgun directly from Mr. Jurjevic. It was fired only a few times and has been stored since the 1990's.
