Regence style marble-top rosewood commode, 20th c., tombeau-form case with scrolling foliate gilt-metal mounts, fitted with two parquetry drawers, rising on flared legs headed by putti with a bird, ending on front paw feet, approx 34.5"h, 50"w, 22"d

10.14.25: I note that the commode is structurally sturdy, the marble top is free from observed hairlines/ fractures, the back edge having only a couple of minute chips commensurate with contact against a wall, the gilt-metal retaining an overall uniform, bright tone, with some scattered minor pitting, all remain securely mounted, drawers operate smoothly, and close examination of the parquetry inlay is free from notable losses, paneling remains tight, and there is a sparse amount of typical minor surface wear such as a couple of minute finish losses, and some small chips commensurate with use
