Framed watercolor portrait miniature, Portrait of a woman in purple dress and gold jewelry, mid 19th c., silver (content unknown) pendant frame, reverse locket glass fractured, housed in a red Morocco leather case, frame: approx 3.25"h, 2.5"w, 68.3 grams total (inclusive of all materials)

10.11.24-LOT 3054: As described the glass front of the locket at the reverse is intact but fractured, please note the miniature has not been examined outside of the frame, as it likely needs a jeweler/ jeweler tools to gain access to the interior, additionally I am not a gemologist and cannot speak to the quality or content of the silver, from a strictly physical examination, the pendant is secure at edge seam, the glass front being free from observed fractures, close visual examination with a loupe and UV light do not reveal evidence of damage, loss, or restoration to the painting, the silver having tonal variation due to tarnish and would benefit from a polish, the reverse of pendant having a few minute dings to the metal, the pendant fits securely within accompanying fitted case, which exhibits light surface wear and some sparse, minute peeling to the leather, and tearing to the interior fabric lining, there is light debris build-up and spotting between the glass and painting commensurate with age
