Framed mixed media on paper, "Clown," signed lower right W Hoey (William Llewellyn Hoey, Texas, 1930-1994), signed Bill Hoey and titled on backboard, hinged at both upper corners with tape, sight: approx 13.25"h, 10.25"w, overall: approx 20.75"h, 16 7/8"w, 4.25lbs 6.24.26- In my opinion regarding LOT: please note that I am not an expert on such works so have taken numerous high-resolution images for our review, the sheet is hinged at the upper corners with adhesive tape, this has yellowed with age, the work was executed on a sketchpad sheet, the upper edge showing evidence of prior ring attachment, sheet appears intact with no noted rips, tears or restorations, a UV light examination reveals only some minor white spots noted at the figure's nose, lips and neck, this appears to be part of the work, possibly drips/spots of the medium and not an apparent flaw, however I am unsure so have taken images for your review, I further note light handling marks, some overall foxing/spotting and toning to the sheet, particularly visible verso, see images, the backboard bears the notation Bill Hoey "Clown" mixed media in pen, the work is securely framed behind glass, the frame exhibits some nicks, spotting and wear consistent with age and display
