(2) U.S. Military Swords: (1) U.S. Model 1902 Officer Saber, the 33.5" slightly curving blade saber without fuller and weighing approx.1.10lbs is unmarked at both ricasso, the brass three branch guard with rays at the blade side and a flying eagle and 13 stars at the pommel side, wire wrapped leather handle with loss, guard is loose, the metal scabbard with some finish loss and bent but fancy drag has an attached sword chain marked "France...Nickel Silver, Rust Proof", and affixed to a vintage WWI-pre WWII era Liberty Belt also known as the Sam Browne belt with cross belt and D rings. sword and scabbard approx. 40"l, the belt, cross belt and sword frog each is marked in blue ink "Captain William Hinkle, State Fencibles Infantry, Philadelphia, Pa." (The Old Guard State Fencibles, 1813-1981,a part of the Pennsylvania militia until independent battalions were abolished around 1900), sword and scabbard approx. 37"l' (1) a Model 1902 sword likely designed for military academy use and weighting about 1.45lbs, , the straight 31.25" blade marked at the left ricasso "M.C. Lilley, & Co., Columbus, OH", the left blade near center with the name panel marked "R. C. Joy", the guard is silver tone, the handle is wire wrapped on pebbled sharking like material, housed in a silver tone scabbard with attached sword chain marked "France, Spartan" and affixed to a Liberty Belt (Sam Browne belt" appearing as with little use, sword and scabbard approx. 37.75"l, for shipping both approx. 6.75lbs **Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
