Antique patinated bronze/ copper alloy figure, India, depicting the Hindu god Krishna/ Balakrishna (child Krishna), the eighth avatar of Vishnu, dancing with a ball of butter, rendered without a crown, displaying shoulder ornaments, necklace and anklets, on integral square plinth, approx 6.5"h, 3 3/8"w, 2.5"d, 1.75lbs **Provenance: the contents of a retired Wall Street executive's lakeside compound**
02.09.26 - In my opinion regarding LOT 1270: Please note that I am not an expert in works of this nature, I note that the figure stands sturdy and remains secure at joinery to base, the metal overall having typical tonal variations associated with patination, mellowing, and rubs commensurate with age and use, the lower edge of the base having some typical minute nicks/ dings consistent with display, I observe a few scattered small holes to the upper edges of base (see images) associated with minor corrosion, a close examination of the reverse reveals a minute square-shaped spot at the lower back and an ovular spot at the underside of one leg with a seam (see images), however I am not sure if this is evidence of a restoration or casting flaws, areas do not fluoresce under UV light and are overall minor, I have taken numerous images of these spots for your reference
