Danish leather 'Egg' chair, Arne Jacobsen (Danish, 1902-1971) for Fritz Hansen, sculptural form in a cognac leather upholstery, seat with fitted loose cushion, on chromed metal tripodal base with swivel function, approx 42"h, 35"w, 30.5"d, seat height: 15"h **Provenance: the contents of the prominent San Antonio Holt Family's Terrell Hills home**

9.28.24-LOT 1207: I note that the chair is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the leather upholstery is overall remarkably well-preserved, having some minor creasing at the back edge of seat, this light creasing is inherent to areas of sharp curvature, there is some minute peeling along the piping at the exterior of chair (see numerous images for reference), all leather remains taut and securely bound to underlying framing, with light inherent tonal variations commensurate with patination from very gentle use, and subtle fading at the seat back, the swivel function operates smoothly, and the metal base exhibits light spotting and oxidation commensurate with age
