Framed oil on canvas painting, "Flickering Lights," signed lower right Dawson-Watson (Dawson Dawson-Watson, British-born, active in Texas, 1864-1939), dated XXVI or [19]26, titled verso, sight: approx 15.5"h, 12.5"w, overall: approx 20.5"h, 17.75"w, 3.75lbs
1.14.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 2211- A UV examination reveals only some possible scattered minor inpainting, concentrated mostly to the upper left and center sky, see images, I further note some spotting and light stretcher line at upper right, there is some variation to paint thickness and some uneven areas along stretcher and frame border as it was created (not loss), there are no apparent rips or tears to canvas, the rear stretcher is titled in pencil, an examination of the rear canvas shows only spotting and darkened coloration as pictured. I am not an expert on such works, so please let me know should you have further questions, the frame exhibits some overall small nicks, rubs and light wood wear, the work came to us from a longtime collector who is liquidating his collection
