Dutch inlaid walnut display cabinet/ bookcase, 19th c., molded cornice with foliated scroll crest, above conforming case with stringwork trim and floral marquetry, glazed sides and pair of cabinet doors enclosing fixed shelving and illuminated interior, lower case fitted with pair of paneled doors, revealing divided interior, on frontal curved feet, in need of wiring, approx 79"h, 53.5"w, 15"d
04.17.2026- In my opinion regarding LOT: 3087- as listed the cabinet is early 19thc., the structure is overall stable, it is in antique condition exhibiting scattered losses, wear and restorations throughout, with imperfections, sparse loss and adhesive repair to inlay, nicks and wood wear to borders/edges, both upper and lower doors are with slight warping, the upper right door shows a small gap at lower door not visible from front, see image, the interior right door appears to have been repaired, but functions well at this time, glass panes are intact with no noted chips or cracks, the interior cabinet retains a worn liner with a musty odor, it would benefit from being removed/replaced, the left door has trouble opening all of the way because of the fabric liner, removing that would solve the issue, there is also an old picture light to the interior, the bottom door is also slightly warped visible from side view, bottom panels are intact with typical old stable splits, inlays are largely present and remain legible with typical scattered losses, reattachment with some visible adhesive, varnish shows some alligatoring, overall the case is sturdy and stable with loss and wear, much of which is commensurate with the origin, age, display and use
