French Louis XVI style marble-top mahogany console table, signed Lexcellent (E. Guillaume-Edmond Lexcellent, b.1834), late 19th c., having rectangular marble top, over apron with scrolling foliate bronze dore mounts, central sunburst mask frieze, rising on metal-capped tapering fluted legs, approx 29.75"h, 47"w, 27"d **Provenance: the contents of the prominent San Antonio Holt Family's Terrell Hills home**
09.25.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3218: I note that the console is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the loose marble top displays inherent natural inclusions, variations, and fissures, close visual examination of the marble does not reveal chipping or hairlines/ fractures, having only a couple minute abrasions, and is securely supported by underlying frame, all ormolu elements exhibit light patination, and remain securely mounted to veneer, some segments of trim having light mellowing and rubs, and some sparse minor spotting, there is a small foliate along the frieze mount to one side that has a higher degree of oxidation, including, verdigris patination but remains intact and secure, the dore of the sunburst mask on either side remaining vibrant and uniform, the veneer adjacent to mask at one side has a few minute splits at edge with reinforcement, I observe a few spots of typical minute surface wear such as a small nick and abrasion at the lower leg commensurate with age and use, I am not an expert on such furniture so have taken multiple high-resolution images, please see the WeTransfer link below **Provenance: the contents of the prominent San Antonio Holt Family's Terrell Hills home**
