Condition

09.25.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3217: I note that both commodes are presently intact and structurally sturdy, both marble tops exhibit a sparse amount of typical minute chipping to edges commensurate with use, one marble top has two professionally reinforced hairlines or fissures, the ormolu is in remarkable condition, having a uniform tone throughout, with a couple small areas of drawer with light spotting and pitting, one case has some scattered minute chips to the veneer, most having professional filled concealment, the trim of the drawers has minor professional reinforcements and concealment, one of the drawers has a split extending from the center of left-hand side with filled reinforcement, the other commode has a slight tonal variation from its pair, including to some segments of inlay, we believe this may be due to sun fading, but we are not experts in such pieces and are not certain, the veneer of this commode is overall remarkably well-preserved, having only a few typical minute veneer chips near edges, these sparse instances of small chips and light abrasions are typical and are commensurate with age and light use
