English Georgian period inlaid oak chest-on-stand, 18th c., having stepped cornice, above rectangular case with banded parquetry trim, fitted with two short over three graduated long drawers, the lower case with three additional drawers, rising on cabriole legs, ending on claw-on-ball feet, approx 61.5"h, 44"w, 23"d
04.21.2026- In my opinion regarding LOT 2254: Please note that as described this dresser originates in the 18th century and as such, surface wear and condition flaws commensurate with age are expected to appear throughout our antique inventory, I note that the structure stands sturdy and appears structurally secure throughout, the inlay is overall well retained, the top of case with separation and some slight lifting at the right-hand edge, the sides also with separation but seams remain stable, the drawers operate smoothly, and the inlaid trim is overall well-retained and free from notable losses, the walnut trim around the drawers with typical minor splits that remain stable, the veneer overall having minor spotting and light tonal variations, also having minute holes around the escutcheons related to an earlier hardware that was replaced (see images)
