Exceptional Porter "Baroque" disc music box, late 20th c., having matched veneer bombe case with inlaid musical instruments, flowers, and sheet music motifs, scrolling foliate trim, hinged top revealing burlwood lid interior inscribed "Porter," two combs with seventy-six teeth in each comb, removable manual winding crank lever, accompanied by (six) 15.5" discs, including "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairies," "The Music Box Dancer," "Don't Cry for Me Argentina," "The Entertainer," "The Sound of Music," and "Lara's Theme," rising on squared feet, observed operating, on and off switch possibly in need of adjustment, overall: approx 11.5"h, 24"w, 21.75"d CR 5.25.25- As noted in the catalog description, the music box was observed operating. All of the teeth on both combs appear to be intact. It winds easily and resounds nicely, appearing to reach all five octaves in its range. According to the maker's website, this music box can play continuously for twenty minutes on a full wind, though we did not test this. The on and off switch at the interior appears to work only some of the time and is possibly in need of adjustment, though I am not an expert on these types of music boxes. We did not test all of the accompanying discs, but the two we tested appear to be intact and have a nice tone.
