French Empire patinated bronze and Siena marble mantel clock, 19th c., surmounted by the Greek muse Erato with lyre and crown of roses, central white dial with serpentine border, Roman numeral hour markers, unmarked time-and-strike movement, rising on stepped platform base and paw feet, lacking pendulum and bell, observed operating, runs fast, small fill repairs to marble near bottom edge and lower left corners, approx 26"h, 21"w, 8"d, 91lbs

CR 6.3.25- As noted in the catalog description, the clock was observed operating but it runs fast. It is currently lacking a bell and a pendulum, and is accompanied by a key. The clock winds easily and the movement responds to winding, however, it does not keep good time because it is missing its pendulum. The case appears to be in good condition, with the mentioned fill repairs to the marble near the bottom back edge and the lower left corners. There is adhesive residue on the glass at the back access door, though this could likely be removed. As with all of our antique clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning.
