French Rococo style gilt-bronze mantel clock, late 19th c., two songbirds surmounting scrolling foliate case, with two seated putti and various floral motifs, centering gilt dial with porcelain Roman numeral hour markers, marked Raingo Freres, Paris, time-and-strike movement marked Paris, on pierced tripartite base, lacking pendulum, not currently operational, approx 23"h, 20"w, 9"d, 41lbs

CR 6.2.25-As mentioned in the catalog description, the clock is not accompanied by a pendulum and is not currently operational. The movement appears to be wound tight, as it is very difficult to wind. The bell and striker are present and resound nicely when manually struck. In my opinion, the case is in overall good condition with typical overall patination commensurate with age. The movement has a circular stamped maker's mark that includes the word "Paris." I cannot make out the rest of the emblem, as it is partially obliterated and obscured by a metal pin. As with all of our antique clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning.
