French Louis Philippe burl walnut commode, mid 19th c., having rectangular marble top, over protruding frieze drawer, and three long drawers, apron concealing additional drawer, rising on frontal flared bracket feet, approx 38"h, 48"w, 20.5"d
01.09.10: In my opinion regarding LOT 3417: I note that the commode stands sturdy and appears structurally secure throughout, the marble top is free from observed hairlines/ fractures, with a minute, tiny fill of a chip along the left-hand edge (see image), also having a few typical minor chips, which are sparse, veneer exhibits a fine figuring and overall uniform tone, with a few small, minor patch repairs seemingly contained to the molded edge of the concealed drawer of the apron, I observe a few minute veneer chips and nicks commensurate with age and use, as are typical, and some stable minor separation of the side panels, drawers operate smoothly and retain overall well-kept interiors
