French Louis XVI style mahogany sideboard, 20th c., shaped marble top, above five drawers, five cabinet doors, each enclosing an adjustable-height shelf, on tapering fluted legs, small wood loss to trim at right-side back case, approx 40.5"h, 98.25"w, 23"d
7.13.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3229- the sideboard is located in cramped area of the gallery and highly reflective, please pardon any glare or white reflection that you see, the marble top is the structure stands sturdy, the marble top is overall intact and protected with a sealant/varnish, there is some typical minute roughness/tiny chips along edges, discoloration/staining, a few tiny areas of fill (very minor), the sealant on the top has peeled along the curved section of the molded edge and in a few places along the top edge, this is very difficult to see, I have taken an image and highlighted one part with a blue arrow, there is a small trim loss right side at back, see image, the case appears free of significant loss or damage, lacquered surface has only some scattered very light surface wear, minor abrasions, rubs, a few nicks and light wood wear/small wood losses, gold painted accents on top pilasters show light wear, drawers slide well, drawers and cabinet interiors are largely clean, overall the case exhibits only light wear commensurate with its age and use, as pictured rear panels show staining (water?) however appear stable at this time
