French mid-century modern sideboard, c.1960s, rectangular case in lacquered macassar ebony veneers, central bar cabinet, flanked on both sides by pairs of cabinet doors, interior shelves and drawers, on tapered legs, sculptural apron intact with veneer loss and minor woodworm, approx 38.5"h, 94.75"w, 20.5"d
04.30.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 2173: I note that the sideboard is presently intact and stands sturdy, all elements appearing secure, the lacquered finish being overall well-preserved with a few minute nicks and abrasions, as are typical and commensurate with use, I note a minute hairline to the finish extending from the front edge with slight lifting along the seam, the lacquer wear is overall very minor and sparse in occurrence, the cabinetry inlay being well-preserved and free from observed visible losses, cabinetry operating as expected, with the interior drawers functioning smoothly, the trim below the lower edge has segment of veneer loss, some spots with colored concealment, there is also minor evidence of old woodworm seemingly contained to this strip of trim, the glass shelf with a couple minute chips commensurate with contact against the interior walls, but being free from fractures/ hairlines, all mentioned commensurate with age and use
