04.21.2026- In my opinion regarding LOT: 3066- the lap desk is overall stable, it is nicely finished all around, hinged elements/doors open smoothly and hold securely, the case exhibits some stable splits to wood, including the top panel, I note some small losses, imperfections, small repairs and touchups to inlaid surfaces, possible restoration, and nicks, metal mounts are present with some surface wear, patination, denting and small losses, interior case is in similar condition, the desk section is lacking a small pull to open the bottom storage, later felt liner to base, a UV examination reveals an old varnish layer, all mentioned minor, the piece presents well, all mentioned commensurate with age and use
