French Napoleon III period cave a liqueur, late 19th c., banded rosewood case with inlaid mother of pearl trim, central scrolled foliate cartouche inscribed "21st Mai 1870-1895," gilt metal cradle fitted with (four) crystal decanters and (twelve) matched cordials, rising on bun feet, overall: approx 10.5"h, 12.5"w, 9.25"d, 11lbs

10.4.24-LOT 3014: I note that the cave a liqueur set is presently intact, all hinged panels operating smoothly, there are some typical minute losses to inlaid trim, as well as some minute seams/splits, there is patination of the brass inlay, of which I do not observe any loss, the gilt metal cradle securely supports all crystal elements, there are four slots on the cradle that are vacant and could accommodate additional cordials, one cordial glass having a minute fleabite at the rim, I do not currently observe chipping to any of the decanters, cordials and decanters are free from observed hairlines/ fractures or evidence of restoration upon UV light and close visual examinations, there is a typical light build up of grime and spotting commensurate with use, as such all crystal elements would benefit from a gentle cleaning
