French Neoclassical bronze dore and porcelain mantel clock, Phillipe H. Mourey (French, 1840-1920), 19th c., tapering case surmounted by amphora-form urn, on openwork scrolled stand flanking dual hanging roundels, central dial with Roman numeral hour markers, time-and-strike movement marked S. Marti & Cie (Samuel Marti, Paris, fl.1870-1890), inset porcelain plaques with painted allegorical figures, rising on scrolled feet, marked P.H. Mourey at back of case, lacking pendulum, observed operating, runs fast, starts and stops, approx 17"h, 13.5"w, 5.5"d, 13lbsÂÂ
CR 7.28.25- As mentioned in the catalog description, the clock was observed operating, but it runs fast and stops after several seconds. The clock is lacking a pendulum. The bell and striker are present, and the bell is currently intact with a hairline. The clock winds easily and the movement responds well to winding but does not keep good time. As with all of our antique clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning.ÂÂ
