French Neoclassical style mahogany commode, late 19th c., rectangular case fitted with three drawers, flanked by fluted corner posts, rising on squared and tapered supports, ending on toupie feet, approx 35.5"h, 42.5"w, 19"d
09.24.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3380: I note that the commode is presently intact and structurally sturdy, the wood having tonal variation throughout, but concentrated at the top paneling from areas of fading and staining commensurate with age and use, all drawers presently operate smoothly, with typical splits to some of the bottom panels, all remaining intact and functional, I observe patination of the metal hardware, and a split extending vertically from the lower edge of left-hand side panel, one edge of the opposite side panel has visible finish touch ups, possibly concealing a reinforcement of the seam, there is typical minor surface wear such as abrasions, scuffing, and some minor nicks concentrated along the front edge of top
