French Provincial walnut monastery/ refectory table, 19th c., having dense, 4" thick rectangular plank top, rising on stretcher-joined trestle base, ending on bridge feet, some scattered old woodworm evidence and stable splits, approx 30.25"h, 116.5"l, 39"w, bottom of apron to floor (clearance): approx 26.25"h
02.06.26 - In my opinion regarding LOT 3123: I apologize that some of the images are a bit cramped, we have a large volume of inventory and things often being a bit inaccessible once they are staged in our showroom, as such I have also attached the photographer’s images without the table cut out onto a white background, I note that the table is structurally sturdy, having typical light tonal variations associated with finish wear, rubs, and light discoloration such as minor heat marks and staining commensurate with age and use, the beams under the tabletop that sit above the trestle supports appear to be later-added/ replaced with modern wood (see images), and there are scattered stable splits and seams of separation, many with filled reinforcement/ concealment, none appear to affect structural integrity, and there is evidence of old woodworm commensurate with origin, I note typical surface wear consistent with use and 19th century origin such as edge chipping, abrasions and scuffs
