French Rococo style parcel gilt faience clock on stand, in the manner of Veuve Perrin, Marseille, late 19th c., with polychrome foliates and floral motifs, reserves depicting courting couples and young ladies in verdant landscapes, spurious mark VP (conjoined) underfoot, comprising: (1) clock, shaped case surmounted by seated cherub with shield, centering white enameled dial, with Arabic hour markers, unmarked time-only movement, rising on conforming stand with scrolled feet, not currently operational, restoration where cherub's head meets shield, clock: approx 14"h, 7.25"w, 5.5"d, stand: approx 3.25"h, 9"w, 6"d, overall: approx 17.25"h, 7lbs total **Provenance: The estate and interior design collection of Gay Ratliff (Martha Gay Kokernot Ratliff, Austin, Texas, 1942-2023)**
06.19.25: In my opinion regarding LOT 2205: As described there is a minute glue reinforcement between the cherubs head and the shield, I note that the clock is intact and stands sturdy, the glazed decoration being overall well-preserved with typical scattered glaze chips, all being small, surface-level, and minor, also commensurate with age and use, I observe some typical glaze pops, and a minute stable hairline at the cherubs back arm just below the shoulder, functionally, as noted in the catalog description, the clock is not currently operational. While the movement winds easily, winding it even slightly causes the minute hand to spin rapidly around the dial. The movement would likely benefit from a cleaning
