Japanese WWII Type 94 military sword, the 26.7/8" steel blade with Japanese character markings appearing on both sides of the nakago or blade tang, possibly that of Miyaguchi Toshihiro, also known as Yasuhiro (1897-1956), master swordsmith at the Nihonto Tanren Kai foundation on the grounds of the Yasunkuni Shrin (active 1933-1936), which is covered by a wood handle with silk wrapping, ray skin, a wire sarute and has some loss, blade with light nicks and rust as visible in photos, the rectangular guard or tsuba is dark pierced brass with cherry blossoms and 5 seppa, the handle is secured to the nakajo with a single mekugi wood peg and locks into the wood lined scabbard at the throat, the rusted steel exterior retains a few small remnants of original dark paint and no visible markings, overall: approx. 38.75"l, approx. 3.15lbs <b>**Note: We are not experts on Japanese swords. 9.25.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 2073- I am not an expert on Samurai swords so have provided numerous high-resolution images for your reference,the listed possible maker has not been formally confirmed, this lot is sold as is, as described, the blade exhibits overall oxidation and rust with scattered pitting, surface wear, and small nicks along the edge, the scabbard is heavily oxidized with losses to the surface finish and remnants of dark paint visible in places, the handle shows wear and small material losses and wear, the peg may be reduced, the guard and fittings are worn, no clear visible maker’s marks are evident, this lot sold AS IS and suggested maker has NOT been confimed <br>
