This lot was examined via photograph by a highly regarded specialist in Native American and ethnographic art.** **Note: Please consult the condition section for limited observations made by our staff during a visual examination of the lot.** 8.23.26- In my opinion regarding: I am not an expert on prehistoric pottery, its condition, conservation or restoration types or techniques, I have taken numerous images for your reference, the jar is overall intact, there are apparent possible restorations to the neck, body and handle, observed as faint whitish lines meandering through the upper body, hairlines, and some color variation to clay (particularly observed at neck), however, none of this produces strong fluorescence under UV light, see images, there are typical small chips, nicks, divots, inherent irregularities to clay, rubs, some staining, spotting, fading and wear to decoration, fine crazing, scattered hairlines, with one larger noted partially encircling the base, this shows slight gapping, there are four small holes at lower body that appear purposeful, I am unable to fully view the interior due to the size of the opening, please refer to high-resolution images for your review Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
