French centerpiece or epergne, late 19th c., bronze dore frame modeled as oak branches with leaves and acorns, central paneled glass bowl, framed by two trumpet-shaped glass flutes with petaled edges, ten candle nozzles each enclosed by a similar glass flute, approx 20.75"h, 32.25"w **Provenance: the contents of the prominent San Antonio Holt Family's Terrell Hills home**
10.12.24-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3195-the centerpiece stands steady on the tabletop surface, after a careful examination with UV light, I note that the bronze frame is intact with no apparent missing elements, arms have slight give and candlecups would likely benefit from being tightened, one candle cup has a small possible repair/touchup (this is not readily apparent to the eye without UV light-see UV image), the patina exhibits inherent imperfections, light spotting and drips, mellowing and light rubs, it varies slightly throughout, however I am unsure if it has been touched up, candle cup bobeches are removable, as are the glass inserts (bowl and flutes), the centerpiece could be used without the small glass inserts and fitted with candlesticks, overall all glass is intact with only some minute typical very small chips to edges/points and very minor surface wear, smaller glass inserts have a metal end that fits into candle cups, a few are not attached but fit the base of the flute, two appear a bit smaller (varied size), they could possibly be affixed with adhesive, I do not know if glass is original, the bowl is situated on a support that may be later, all mentioned commensurate with age and use, no apparent significant loss
