Monumental Louis XV style bronze dore mantel clock, having openwork scrolling foliate case, with floral blossoms and draped cherubs in various poses, centering white dial with Roman numeral hour markers, marked Durenne Paris, time-and-strike movement marked L.P. Japy et Cie Hors Concours, ending on whorl feet, accompanied by ill-fitting pendulum and key, observed operating but runs fast, in need of adjustment to keep good time, approx 36"h, 35"w, 11"d

CR 8.12.25 - As mentioned in the catalog description, the clock was observed operating but does not keep good time. This is likely because the accompanying pendulum is ill-fitting. The suspension spring is intact and the bell and striker are present. The striker appears to have been bent out of place slightly so as to not strike the bell properly, which is common on clocks such as this. The movement has additional marks "P.R. 6542" and "32" beside the maker's mark. In my opinion, the case is in overall good condition with some typical light mellowing and patination. As with all of our clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning of the movement.
