Meissen style figural porcelain mantel clock, 19th c., having central gilt-metal framed dial, with Roman numeral hour markers, later winding mechanical movement, surrounded by applied flowers and foliage, allegorical figures of children emblematic of the four seasons, marked underfoot, not currently operational, later back access door detached but present, approx 15"h, 8"w, 16"d, 7.25lbs 3.24.26-The figural group is overall intact, a careful UV light examination reveals scattered typical small chips and losses to applied fruits and flowers, there are scattered minor restorations to these elements, UV light reveals that the shoes of the central figure (with fruit basket) may have been overpainted or intact with professional restoration, I am unsure, this figure is also lacking the pointer finger on the left hand, colors remain vibrant, the clock face and glass are intact, the rear is lacking the original cover, the replacement is somewhat ill fitting, Please note, we are not clock experts, as mentioned in the catalog description, the movement is later and unassociated with the dial, it has a winding mechanism that is accessed by removing the metal plaque at the back, as mentioned in the description, this plaque is likely not original to the piece and it detached but present, it is very difficult to wind, indicating that the movement may be wound tight, the clock does not respond to winding, as with all of our clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a thorough cleaning Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
