Monumental Regence style mantle clock on stand, with bronze dore mounts and Boulle-style brass inlay, topped with Classical figure holding torch, over architectural case with pierced finials and protruding caryatid corner mounts, glazed dial viewing panel above goddess on horse-drawn chariot, gilt metal dial with Roman numeral hour markers, marked time-and-strike movement, rising on shaped console with cabriole legs, joined by lower shelf, ending on bun feet, clock accompanied by pendulum, lacking bell, runs fast, approx 87"h, 34"w, 20"d
3.10.25 In my opinion of LOT 3249 -
As mentioned in the catalog description, the clock is accompanied by a well-fitting pendulum but is lacking a bell. The movement is marked on the left side with Asian characters (likely Chinese) and "N 67 IO" on the right side. The clock winds well and the movement responds to winding, but the clock runs fast. As with all of our clocks, this piece would likely benefit from a professional adjustment and a cleaning.
