This lot was examined via photograph by a highly regarded specialist in Native American and ethnographic art.** **Note: Please consult the condition section for limited observations made by our staff during a visual examination of the lot.** 8.23.26- In my opinion regarding: I am not an expert on prehistoric pottery, its condition, conservation or restoration types or techniques, I have taken numerous images for your reference, the bowl appears overall intact with restoration, visible to the eye and under UV light, there are visible hairlines, filled and conserved areas throughout, some of which fluoresce purple under UV light, there are a few areas possibly overpainted, see images, I further observe some minute chipping and loss along restored areas, including a seam line near exterior figure that shows a long slim area of missing clay, see image, nicks to body, some rim roughness and small chips, spotting, discoloration, pitting and small losses. please refer to high-resolution images for your review Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
