1.13.26 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 3309- please note I am not an expert on such works, a careful UV light examination reveals evidence of the aforementioned three patched repairs to the canvas, widespread age-related craquelure, a heavy and old varnish layer, scattered areas of inpainting, and faint stretcher lines visible along the outer borders, the painting appears to have slightly slipped within the frame resulting in a narrow gap at the top edge with associated paint wear and minor losses visible along the perimeter, under UV the varnish response is notably uneven with a clearer zone surrounding the sitter’s face, consistent with localized cleaning and or possible selective varnish reduction, the frame is overall intact exhibiting scattered wood losses, surface abrasions, paint wear, tonal variation, and some areas of later touchup, a pen notation reading No 248 is present at the upper left of the frame along with the additional notation along the lower frame rail, I have attached numerous high resolution images for close review
