Description: U.S. Springfield Trapdoor Rifle, Model 1884, 45.70 caliber, mfg. fourth quarter 1885, 32.5/8" barrel, two barrel bands with "U" mark, cleaning rod with slot, blade front sight, Buffington rear sight with "R" mark at left, barrel in front of breech marked "V, P, eagle, P" and "A" at center, small "R" at lower left, lock marked "U.S. Model 1873", lockplate marked with "eagle and U.S. Springfield", stacking swivel and two sling swivels, steel butt plate with faint "U.S." at upper tang, wood likely refinished, light scratching, metal mostly brown with rub/scar on barrel near front barrel band, action is strong, bore semi bright with good rifling, SN 299671
