03.19.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1489: I note that the bookcase is presently intact and structurally sturdy, with the drawers, glazed doors, and drop front all operating smoothly, the doors closing securely, the small cabinet within the drop front is lacking a door pull, and I observe some minor sparse splits, including one to the left side of drop front with varnish loss, there is minute evidence of old woodworm, the glass is well-preserved with light spotting and is free from observed chips or fractures, a couple pieces of the tracery on the right side glazed door have minor reinforcement with glue that is visible only from the interior, there is a minor area of veneer lifting along inlaid trim on the left side edge of bookcase, and there is typical minor surface wear such as light abrasions, nicks, and mars to the veneer
