French Napoleon III period liqueur casket, Charles-Guillaume Diehl (German/ French, 1811-1885), Rue Michel-le-Comte, Paris, late 19th c., hinged case finished in amboyna burlwood veneers, with inlaid white floral motifs, revealing removable cradle fitted with (four) etched crystal decanters and (sixteen) matched cordial glasses, rising on turned feet, maker's mark to lockplate, approx 10.25"h, 13.25"w, 10"d, 11.25lbs

Condition

2.16.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 2195-The box is overall sturdy and intact, wood exhibits some inherent imperfections to the burl, there is a small veneer loss at the rear right corner as pictured, inlays and metal string work is present throughout, hinges are secure, doors open smoothly, the inner cradle appears with some small nicks and wear, is it a bit smaller than the interior, I am not sure if it is original to the box, bottles are also a bit small for the fitting, however, the cordials fit perfectly, there are no observed chips or cracks to the glass, all mentioned minor, the key does operate the lock
