Condition

03/17/2026- In my opinion regarding LOT: 1175- please note that I am not an expert on such works, so have taken numerous high-resolution images for your review, a UV light examination is largely unremarkable revealing only very slight craquelure, with scattered areas stabilization and minor inpainting, including a small area above the kitten at the upper left and within the left quadrant, I also note a small area of inpainting or possible repair to the left kitten as seen in the UV images, the canvas is taut and appears to have been relined and stabilized with a wax and canvas lining, the surface presents with some light surface accretions and an aged varnish layer, the work is stable, the frame is intact exhibiting some typical small rubs, nicks and scattered losses, the gilding remains bright with mellowed areas throughout, with light stress lines visible primarily at the joints and small losses to some molded elements, all commensurate with age, professional conservation, and handling
